General Info

Do you find that stress has become your constant companion? Do you experience restricted movement that interferes with what you are trying to accomplish? Are repetitive job actions causing you pain that affects your abilities at work? The tensions of everyday life can take up permanent residence in our bodies. Most of us are unaware of this tension buildup until crisis, injury, or repetitive stress causes pain. Massage therapy can help reduce the stress, tension and pain cycle.

Massage Therapy is recommended for those suffering with Fibromyalgia, a widespread muscle, tendon, and ligament pain and fatigue disorder. It is also helpful for those experiencing Myofacial Pain Syndrome, a localized muscle and fascia pain problem arising from trauma or repetitive injuries.

Massage therapy benefits are not merely limited to relieving muscle, tendon and ligament tension and pain. The massage process can also assist with relieving headaches, lowering blood pressure, stress management, mental and physical fatigue, improvement of circulation of blood and lymph, ridding the body of toxins, increasing joint flexibility and range of motion, and reducing anxiety.
Massage therapy may provide a unique healing experience for you and could positively impact the rest of your life.
I am Susan Elizabeth Johnston BA, LMT, LIC#MA29397, EST#MM9922. My background prior to becoming a massage therapist was in the mental health field. I am Florida State Licensed, a Member of the American Massage Therapy Association, and have 22 years of experience. It has been a profound gift to be a part of the journey with each person who has shared my path. It would be my honor and privilege to work with you. I would be pleased to discuss with you the ways in which Massage Therapy can help meet your individual needs.

On your FIRST visit I would like to offer you $10 off the price of a one hour massage when you mention this ad. GIFT CERTIFICATES are also available.

Hours:

Monday through Friday. Hours are somewhat variable due to scheduling. Please call for an appointment.

Services/Products

The following massage methods are used either independently or combined in a session in order to best address the problems and goals of the individual.

Swedish Massage utilizes long strokes, kneading, tapping and/or friction on the more superfical layers of the muscles and include assisted active and passive manipulation of the joints. Used primarily for a full body session, Swedish Massage promotes general relaxation, improves circulation and range of motion, and relieves muscle tension.

Deep Tissue Massage releases the cronic patterns of tension in the body through slow strokes and deep pressure on contracted areas, either following or going across the grain of muscles, tendons and fascia. It can be used for specific work to a problem area or for a full body session.

Neuromuscular Massage applies concentrated direct pressure to trigger points (painful irrated areas of the muscle) with the objective of breaking the cycle of spasm and pain. This technique is usually combined with a Deep Tissue session.

Reiki is accomplished by statically holding the energy meridians in order to assist the body in re-establishing, or maintaining, health and balance of the energy field. This balance is necessary in order for the body to achieve homeostasis (stability of all body functions at normal levels).

AKA

Pathways Therapeutic Massage
